Maame Barnie Adu Amoah is an astute commercial attorney who brings extensive experience in commercial transactions, litigation, and regulatory compliance, with a strong focus on the intersection of law, business, technology, and sustainability.

She recently completed her LL.M. with a Certificate in Intellectual Property, Science, and Technology at Duke University and also holds a Master of Laws from Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom. She also holds a Barrister at Law (BL) from the Ghana School of Law and an LL.B. from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, where she was honored as the Best Student in Public Law. As a member of the Ghana Bar Association and the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), Maame is deeply engaged in advancing privacy, artificial intelligence, and sustainable legal frameworks.

Prior to joining Africa Sustainable Energy Center (ASEC), she served as Senior Associate at B&P Associates, where she negotiated and drafted numerous local and cross‑border commercial agreements across diverse industries and championed the firm’s ESG and sustainability practice. She also worked as a legal associate at Minkah‑Premo & Partners, contributing to post‑M&A integration and streamlining commercial agreements.

Barnie has co‑authored legal publications with leading platforms such as the International Journal of Financial Research and Business Development, Oxford Business Group, Lexology, Practical Law, Mondaq, and the International Comparative Legal Guide of Global Legal Group, underscoring her thought leadership in business law and legal compliance.
